Hoshinbudoryu Membership
Because Hoshin Budo is a system requiring certain character traits, we require application for membership in order to train and test. We also want to know all of our students worldwide on a personal basis as far as email will allow. No matter where you are, you can apply for membership and develop a relationship with Soke Williams and the senior instructors, who can guide you in developing your skills and pursuing your interests. Requests for membership must include:
1) a letter or email to Soke including background, what the applicant hopes to gain from association with the ryu, what s/he can offer back to other ryu members, present address, email, phone number(s), age, nationality, profession, background in healing and meditation, and dojo affiliation, if any. If you are being reccomended, please include who recommended you - otherwise include a note explaining about how you heard about the Hoshinbudoryu.
Once Soke has accepted your application, you will also need to send:
2) two digital passport like photos.
If you are training with an authorized teacher of the Hoshinbudoryu, you will also need to send
3) annual dues, presently $30 U.S. renewable the month you joined.
4) Or, you also have the option to buy the White Belt Distance Learning Introductory Package, for $45, which includes your first year's membership dues, the White Belt DVD, the White Belt Manual (.pdf e-book), and the Basic Meditation CD, all for just $45. You may choose this option whether doing distance learning, or if training with an authorized teacher.
Membership dues are paid by all students and instructors in the Hoshinbudoryu. Dues must be current to test for rank advancement. Dues are $30 per year. Members receive discounts on products and seminars. You will get a membership card with your Ryu member number.
Ryu membership includes Ryu membership card, access to ryu-only yahoo list and members-only products, manuals, dvds, and more.
